How to write well
51Proof reading
One of my biggest pet peeves is reading something that the writer has not proof read. It is a simple thing to do. When writing for anything, a blog, schoolwork, or a letter, making sure you spell everything correctly and that your grammar is correct, is important.
I go to college online. In our discussions, I see many grammatical errors. I often wonder how these people hold a job. I am in school for Early Childhood Education, and I cringe thinking these people are teaching our children. Their posts are horrendous.
I am not saying I am perfect. I make mistakes all the time. I always read what I have written to make sure everything is correct. Microsoft word has a spell check. Click on the review tab and then click spelling and grammar. This will not catch all the mistakes, proof reading may not either. However, doing these two simple things will catch most mistakes and make your written work more intelligent.
I understand if there is a language issue. If English is not your first language, it can be tough to write correctly. If you are from America and speak English, you have no excuse to make so many grammatical errors. Computers are made to help with that.
Trust me; it will make all the difference to your readers and potential employers if you can write using proper English. We should never write the way we speak.
Thank you for letting me get that off my chest.
It helps to read things aloud, too. Spell check wants me to change the above sentence from, "Thank you for letting me get that off my chest." to "Thank you for letting me gets that off my chest." I know just by reading it that spell check is incorrect.
Please let me know if you find errors in this hub. Like I said, I am not perfect and I make mistakes, too.

hmmm, could have broached the subject more. But understandable, bad grammar can be very annoying. Voted interesting because well, it is.
